Painters in Dorchester, Ontario

Based in the village. Interior and exterior painting, decks, gazebos and garages for Dorchester homes.

Mill Pond Painters is based in Dorchester. Not "serving" it from across the city, based here, and the pond in our name is Dorchester's.

We have painted homes all over the village, from the older houses along Hamilton Road and Catherine Street to the newer streets off Dorchester Road. That is the short version of why a Dorchester homeowner should call a Dorchester painter. The longer version is below.

We are rated 5.0 on Google, carry liability insurance and WSIB coverage, and back every job with a 2-year workmanship warranty.

Streets We Have Painted in Dorchester

A painter who already knows your street knows the houses on it. Here are some of the Dorchester streets where we have worked:

  • Parkview Drive: garage doors and trim, a gazebo and deck, interior walls and trim, a Tudor-style exterior
  • Hamilton Road, including the Village Gate condos
  • Mitchell Avenue, Tiner Avenue and Queen Street
  • Catherine Street, Charles Street, Ruth Street and Byron Avenue
  • Manley Drive, Oakwood Drive, Pinehurst Drive and Linwood Drive
  • Boardwalk Way, Chittick Crescent, Valleyview Crescent and Mapleridge Crescent
  • Starlight Lane, Riness Drive, Carleton Court, Mill Pond Court and Pondview Court
  • Fox Hollow Drive, Village Gate Crescent, Dorchester Road and Ferrar Road

If your street is on that list, there is a fair chance we have been inside a house like yours already.

What Dorchester Homes Usually Need

Dorchester has two kinds of houses, and they ask for different work.

The newer subdivisions (Boardwalk Way, Chittick Crescent, Fox Hollow, Village Gate) were finished with builder-grade flat paint. It scuffs, it does not wipe clean, and it shows every roller mark. The first proper repaint is the one that makes the house feel finished: two coats of a washable eggshell on the walls, a flat ceiling, and crisp trim. A vaulted-ceiling bedroom on Boardwalk Way and a whole-home repaint on Chittick Crescent, done before the owner moved in, were both this kind of job.

The older village homes along Hamilton Road, Catherine Street and Queen Street have wood trim, older drywall or plaster, and exteriors that take weather from the open fields on the east side. Those jobs are prep-heavy: filling, caulking, sanding, priming bare wood, and then paint. A front door and second door on Riness Drive, exterior doors on Pinehurst Drive, and aluminum siding work on Catherine Street all started with prep, not paint.

Then there is the outdoor work that fills our summers here. Dorchester lots are big enough for real decks, gazebos and fences, and the sun on a south-facing deck off Parkview Drive or Oakwood Drive wears a finish out fast. We stain decks, gazebos, fences and railings by brush, never sprayed, so the stain soaks in rather than sitting on top.

Garages come up a lot too: garage doors and trim on Parkview Drive, full garage interiors on Pondview Court and Hamilton Road, wood steps and railings for a repeat client.

Painting Services in Dorchester

We do the same work in Dorchester that we do everywhere, with a shorter drive.

  • Interior painting: walls, ceilings, trim, doors, closets, stairwells and basements, one room or the whole house. A washable eggshell on walls, flat on ceilings, enamel on trim.
  • Exterior painting: siding, fascia, soffits, window and door trim, front doors, garage doors, porches and railings.
  • Deck and brick staining: decks, gazebos, fences and railings, plus brick staining for exteriors and fireplaces.
  • Cabinet painting: kitchen and bathroom cabinets sprayed for a smooth, hard finish.
  • Drywall repair, popcorn ceiling removal, wallpaper removal and colour help come with the work when you need them.

How a Dorchester Estimate Works

We come to the house, walk the rooms or the exterior with you, measure, and ask what you want the finish to look like. You get a written quote with the scope spelled out line by line. There is no pressure and no number made up on the doorstep.

Because we are in the village, a Dorchester estimate is easy to fit in.

If you go ahead, you pick colours and we book the days. Furniture gets covered in place, floors get protected, and you get a walk-through with us before we leave.

Charlie and his team did a great job painting my whole home in a short timeline. They worked until 1am to ensure the work was done before I moved in. They were meticulous, polite, and did quality work. I highly recommend Mill Pond painters.

Dana R., whole-home interior, Chittick Crescent

Steve at Millpond Painters did a great job painting my spare room. Everything was very professional and completed in a very timely manner. I love it!!

Julie C., bedroom with a vaulted ceiling, Boardwalk Way

We were extremely impressed with the professionalism of the painters and the quality of the job they did. They ensured that the walls were sanded where necessary so that the overall look was very clean.

Dorchester Painting Questions

Can you match the builder's colours in the newer subdivisions?

Yes. If you have the cans or the colour codes, send a photo and the paint is tinted before we arrive. If you have nothing, we match from a sample of the existing paint.

When is deck staining season in Dorchester?

Roughly May through early October, and it comes down to the forecast more than the calendar. Stain needs dry wood, a dry day, and a dry night after. Our guide on when to stain a deck in Ontario covers temperature, humidity and timing in detail.

Do you paint garage doors and garage interiors?

Yes, both. Garage doors and trim are a common Dorchester job, and full garage interiors (walls, ceiling, man door) are a regular one too.

Are you insured?

Yes. Liability insurance and WSIB coverage. Ask and we will send you the certificates.

Do you work outside the village?

Yes. Thames Centre (Thorndale, Putnam, Mossley, Nilestown, Harrietsville and Avon), London, St. Thomas, Ingersoll and Woodstock are all regular stops.
